Welcome to Ann and Sami's travel blog!

The first time we met, we spent the evening sharing thoughts about our favorite places to travel. Over thirty years later, travel is still our passion. Our love of travel has taken us to over 60 countries as well as a few stretches of living abroad.

A blog is born

It all started a few years ago when several of our friends expressed a desire to follow an upcoming trip and asked us to post some photos along the way.. We started by posting on Facebook, with some accompanying short stories. In short order, our posts had developed a following and we began to get serious about crafting a story around the words and images.

Meanwhile, we began getting lots of requests to share details of our itineraries, so we began keeping meticulous notes about our experiences at our travel destinations to pass along to anyone who asked.

Over time, more and more people were telling us they wanted to see our travel photos, but they weren’t on Facebook. A standalone blog was the obvious next step.

Travel in our Footsteps is our little labor of love. We hope you enjoy reading it as much as we’ve enjoyed creating it.
